Anglo American’s Kumba Iron Ore is calling on motivated South Africans between the ages of 18 and 35 to apply for its 2025 Learnership and Skills Development Programmes. This exciting initiative aims to empower young people by equipping them with valuable technical and practical skills for the mining industry and beyond.

Available Learnerships and Programmes

1. Plant Learnership (Duration: 24 months)

  • Requirements:
  • Grade 12 / N3 or equivalent
  • Mathematics / Mathematical Literacy / Technical Mathematics
  • South African citizen with a valid ID
  • Aged between 18–35 years
  • Must have a valid Driver’s License
  • Currently unemployed
  • Proof of residential address
  • Must pass a Fitness Assessment and RFA

2.Mining Learnership (Duration: 18 months)

    Requirements:

    • Grade 12 / N3 or equivalent
    • Mathematics / Mathematical Literacy / Technical Mathematics
    • Science will be advantageous
    • South African citizen with a valid ID
    • Aged between 18–35 years
    • Must have a valid Driver’s License
    • Currently unemployed
    • Proof of residential address
    • Must pass a Medical Fitness Assessment and RFA

    3. . Portable Skills Programme (Duration: 6 months)

    Requirements:

    • Minimum Grade 10
    • Minimum Grade 11 for welding and plumbing trades
    • South African citizen with a valid ID
    • Aged between 18–35 years
    • Currently unemployed
    • Proof of residential address
    • Must pass a Fitness Assessment
