Job Description
As a Cashier at Cashbuild’s Mbhashe branch, you will be responsible for ensuring the accurate processing of transactions, handling cash efficiently, and providing exceptional customer service. Your duties will include:
- Cash Handling: Ensure that all cash, including floats and petty cash, is accurately balanced. Process customer transactions correctly and ensure sufficient change is available. Perform accurate cash-ups at the end of each shift and ensure all takings are securely deposited.
- Administration: Compile, sign, and file all related documentation to the cashier function. Maintain organized and accurate records.
- Customer Service: Offer fast, friendly, and efficient service to all customers. Direct customers to the relevant department or staff member as needed. Adhere to Cashbuild’s dress code and maintain a professional appearance.
- Safety and Security: Ensure compliance with Occupational Health and Safety (OHSA) requirements, including customer and staff safety within your area of responsibility. Manage security controls at the till point and ensure the safe transport of cash to the cash office.
- Operational Efficiency: Achieve set targets and complete work to the required standard. Identify and resolve problems within the department and escalate issues when necessary. Make decisions in line with company policies and within set timelines.
