Job Description

MA Automotive Tool and Die (PTY) Ltd is looking to hire four millwright apprentices for their Berlin Plant 4. The company specializes in the production of vehicle body components, systems, and tools for the sheet metal processing industry. Primarily serving customers in the automotive sector, the company supplies products for markets in South Africa, the United States, and right-hand driving markets in Asia. The high quality and performance of their products have earned them a solid reputation, with over 30% of their manufacturing volume coming from these sectors.

The apprenticeship program spans four years and offers training in an automotive press manufacturing environment. Apprentices will be registered with the Manufacturing, Engineering and Related Services Sector Education and Training Authority (MERSETA), and the program will be quality assured by the Quality Council for Trades and Occupations (QCTO). This structured approach ensures that apprentices receive comprehensive training and development, equipping them with the skills needed for a successful career in the industry.

Requirements

To qualify for the Millwright Apprenticeship, applicants must meet the following criteria:

Skills:

  • Highly motivated and self-driven individuals.
  • Technically inclined candidates.
  • Proficient in English.
  • Good interpersonal skills.
  • Strong work ethic.
  • Willingness to work in any MA Automotive Tool and Die (PTY) Ltd plant in South Africa.

Educational Qualifications:

  • Grade 12 Senior Certificate: Applicants must have completed Grade 12 with a minimum grade of 60% in Mathematics, Science, and English. Note that Mathematics Literacy will not be accepted. Or
  • TVET Equivalent Qualifications: Candidates may also qualify with an N3 certificate from a Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) institution, provided they have completed four subjects, including Mathematics, Science, and other subjects such as Electronics, Electrical, Electro-technology, Industrial Electronics, or Engineering Drawings.
