Nedbank is once again opening doors for South African youth through its 2025 YES Youth Programme, offering a valuable 12-month work experience opportunity at the Nedbank Contact Centre in Umhlanga, Durban.
This initiative is part of Nedbank’s commitment to empowering young South Africans and helping them gain the skills and experience they need to succeed in today’s job market.
About the Programme
The YES (Youth Employment Service) Programme is a national initiative designed to create meaningful work experience for unemployed youth. Participants will be placed in service, sales, or collections roles within Nedbank’s Personal and Private Banking division.
Throughout the 12-month programme, participants will gain hands-on experience in customer service, communication, and teamwork — all while upholding Nedbank’s values of integrity, respect, accountability, and client focus.
What You’ll Do
Depending on your placement, your daily responsibilities may include:
- Assisting clients via phone, email, and SMS.
- Delivering professional, friendly, and efficient service.
- Identifying and promoting Nedbank’s financial products.
- Managing client accounts and supporting debt collections.
- Contributing to team success through collaboration and shared learning.
Minimum Requirements
To qualify for the Nedbank YES Youth Learnership, applicants must:
- Hold a Grade 12 / National Senior Certificate.
- Be 18–29 years old (born between November 1995 and November 2007).
- Be currently unemployed.
- Not have participated in a previous YES programme.
- Be a South African citizen (African, Coloured, or Indian as defined by the BBBEE Act).Have good communication skills in English (other South African languages are an advantage).
- Have basic computer literacy.
