Job Description
The Fitter position at RCL Foods' Speciality Business Unit involves:
- Performing routine preventive maintenance to ensure machines run smoothly and systems operate efficiently.
- Inspecting drives, motors, belts, bearings, and replacing filters.
- Assembling, installing, and repairing pipe systems, plumbing, machinery, and equipment.
- Ensuring compliance with Health and Safety requirements.
- Diagnosing and correcting mechanical problems.
- Inspecting, operating, and testing machinery to diagnose malfunctions.
- Directing and training workers to install and maintain mechanical equipment.
- Recording maintenance and repair work performed.
- Cleaning and lubricating shafts, bearings, gears, and other machinery parts.
- Performing general machining on lathe and milling machines as needed.
Minimum Requirements
- 5 years of experience post-Trade test.
- N3 Mechanical Engineering qualification.
- Trade qualifications as Fitter, Millwright, or Fitter and Turner.
- Basic Electrical experience is advantageous.
- Knowledge of welding, machining, cutting, compressors, conveyor belts, and LP gas equipment.
- Experience with oven burners and bakery equipment.
- Ability to work shifts, be available for callouts and standby.
- Compliance with Food Safety standards.
- Prior FMCG experience is advantageous.
