Minimum Requirements

To apply, you must meet the following criteria:

  • Education: Senior Certificate (Grade 12) or National Certificate (Vocational) at NQF Level 4.
  • PSIRA Registration: At least a Grade C security certificate.
  • No disqualifications for firearm possession.
  • Advantages:
    • Diploma/Degree in security or related field.
    • Relevant courses in security.
    • Valid driver’s license (light motor vehicle).
  • Skills:
    • Ability to work shifts and extended hours.

Key Responsibilities

Your primary duties as a Security Guard will include:

  • Access Control:
    • Manage entry and exit in line with the Control of Access to Public Premises and Vehicles Act (Act No 53/1985).
    • Verify identity of employees, visitors, and contractors.
    • Maintain visitor registers and issue access cards.
  • Premises and Equipment Security:
    • Inspect vehicles, supplies, and equipment to ensure safety compliance.
    • Supervise cleaners and maintenance staff from a security perspective.
    • Report security deficiencies to senior personnel.
  • Shift Work:
    • Be available for irregular hours and shift duties.
