Job Description:
The role of a financial advisor at Sanlam includes:
- Providing financial advice and planning to clients.
- Procuring sustainable, high-quality business.
- Maintaining and servicing client relationships for long-term brand loyalty.
- Ensuring compliant and ethical interactions with clients.
- Promoting the Sanlam brand and treating customers fairly.
- Generating revenue through new and recurring premiums.
- Networking, prospecting, and generating leads.
- Conducting comprehensive fact-finding and financial needs analysis.

- Ensuring ethical, courteous, and professional client interactions.
- Continuous learning and staying updated on market/industry issues.
- Monitoring and reporting client activities and business performance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Client Engagement: Interact face-to-face, through social or business networks, and create business opportunities.
- Prospecting: Identify and convert new clients, strengthen existing relationships, and utilize social media for marketing.
- Client Consultations and Sales: Ensure compliance, document client needs, provide financial planning advice, and present solutions professionally.
- Client Service: Maintain ethical standards, resolve queries promptly, and provide exceptional service to retain clients.
- Monitoring and Reporting: Track and report contact activities, issued business, revenue targets, and client details.
Qualification and Experience:
- Educational Requirement: Grade 12
- Regulatory Requirements: Comply with the Financial Advisory and Intermediary Services Act (FAIS) “Fit and Proper” requirements and pass the Regulatory Examination if registered with the Financial Sector Conduct Authority (FSCA) for more than 24 months.
