Purpose of the Programme
The programme is designed to:
- Train learners to complete the Basic Pharmacist Assistant course.
- Impart essential skills to ensure quality job learning in the pharmaceutical field.

Responsibilities
Learners will be trained to perform tasks such as:
- Selling Schedule 1 medicines and assisting with patient inquiries.
- Managing stock, including reporting low/out-of-stock items.
- Unpacking and merchandising dispensary stock.
- Ensuring accurate labeling, checking, and dispensing of medication.
- Assisting with chronic medication schemes, including HIV/AIDS and oncology.
- Following up with patients regarding scripts and appointments.
Requirements
To qualify, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Education:
- Grade 12 (Matric) with:
- Mathematics (Higher Grade)
- Physical Science or Life Science
- Achieve a minimum average of 50%.
- Grade 12 (Matric) with:
- Skills and Competencies:
- Proficiency in English and a second language (read, write, and speak).
- Strong skills in time management, attention to detail, and problem-solving.
- Proficiency in computer and numerical skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and deliver customer-focused service.
