Job Description
The Finance Intern will assist in the financial administration of Masana Petroleum Solutions, supporting the Performance Manager and Finance Manager. The role requires a team player who ensures transactions are processed and reported accurately and timely, adhering to established guidelines, audit requirements, and the company’s financial policies and procedures.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Support:
- Provide operational support to the Finance department.
- Shadow relevant personnel within the department.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and accounting standards.
- Assist in the preparation of Annual Financial Statements in compliance with IFRS for SMME’s.
- Prepare Income Tax and Deferred Tax calculations and ensure tax compliance.
- Prepare monthly VAT Reconciliation and VAT201 report for submission on the online SARS platform.
- Liaise with internal and external auditors for an efficient audit cycle.
- Perform general ledger reconciliations.
- Conduct ad hoc and project-related tasks as required.
Business Performance, Reporting, and Forecasting:
- Assist in month-end margin analysis and business forecasting and planning processes.
- Prepare performance management and variance analysis reports.
- Monitor business drivers such as volume, margins, and costs against the plan/forecast.
- Report major deviations in transfer pricing charges.
- Prepare regular and ad-hoc reports and presentations for stakeholders.
Management & Financial Accounting:
- Assist in fixed assets reporting and accounting.
- Prepare financial models and ensure integrity of work in progress reporting.
- Verify and process creditor invoices and assist in the monthly creditor payments process.
- Prepare Op-Cost Transactional information reports.
- Track operational costs and prepare the Rolling Forecast monthly.
- Prepare monthly bank reconciliations.

Qualifications and Experience
Essential:
- An undergraduate degree in Finance or Accounting.
