Job Description

The Data Capturer will be responsible for the accurate and timely collection and capturing of health data in various facilities across the Northern Cape. This role is essential for maintaining data integrity and supporting the health information management system.

Duties

  • Collect data according to the National Indicator Data Set (NIDS) using standard tools.
  • Use standard data recording registers/tools.
  • Adhere to the National Information Management Policy.
  • Ensure data is correct, complete, and consistent.
  • Report facility monthly data to districts timely, including Tier.Net dispatch files.
  • Validate monthly input forms against source documents regularly.
  • Maintain proper filing systems in healthcare facilities.
  • Capture data into WebDHIS, Tier.Net, EDRweb, and other patient management systems.
  • Perform validation checks and ensure data integrity.
  • Conduct regular data quality audits and participate in external audits.
  • Export data according to Provincial data flow procedures.
  • Prepare and update monthly indicator graphs.
  • Prepare monthly reports on key indicators for facility meetings.
  • Provide feedback to staff on data quality monthly.
  • Perform administrative/clerical duties as required.

Requirements

  • Education: Senior Certificate/Matric Certificate or equivalent.
  • Skills:
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Basic computer literacy skills (Windows, MS Office, E-Mail).
  • Knowledge of customer care relations.
  • Familiarity with data collection standards and information systems (DHIS).
