Job Description:
The Western Cape Government is seeking a skilled Personnel Officer to join the People Management team. This role involves managing various personnel administration functions, including appointments, terminations, transfers, and more. The position is crucial for maintaining effective record-keeping and ensuring the correct application of People Management policies and practices.
Requirements:
- Minimum Educational Qualification: Senior Certificate/Grade 12.
- Experience: Appropriate experience in a relevant field.
- Competencies (Knowledge/Skills): Proficiency in MS Office packages (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and PERSAL. Good numeracy skills. Thorough knowledge of People Management prescripts in the Public Service. Strong interpersonal and organizational skills, with the ability to function under pressure and meet deadlines.
Duties:
- Perform all administrative duties related to personnel administration, including appointments, service terminations, transfers, pension administration, salary administration, leave management, housing, debt management, PILIR, RWOEE, SPMS, etc.
- Audit personnel and leave records to ensure accuracy and maintain effective record-keeping.
- Ensure correct application of People Management policies in respect of policies and practices.
- Handle all personnel inquiries and correspondence, both written and verbal.
- Provide effective support services to the supervisor.
Required Documents:
- Senior Certificate/Grade 12.
- Proof of relevant experience.
- Certificates of competency in relevant software and systems (MS Office, PERSAL).
