Job Description

The Sandvik Artisan Bridge Learnership is a 12-month program designed to equip qualified artisans with specialized training in Sandvik products and practical experience in the maintenance and rebuild of mining machines. As a Millwright learner, you will gain invaluable industry knowledge, working alongside seasoned professionals in a demanding and rewarding environment. This program not only prepares you to be competitive in the mining sector but also offers you the opportunity to contribute to a global leader in mining and infrastructure solutions.

Requirements

Candidates must have a Grade 12 (Matric) with Mathematics and Science or an equivalent qualification. A minimum of N2 Engineering Studies is mandatory, along with a qualified Millwright certification. Electricians will also be considered carefully for this role. Additionally, candidates must possess a Section 13 Trade Certificate or Section 26D Trade Certificate with a Portfolio of Evidence (POE), proof of completed modules, or proof of apprenticeship. Being physically and medically fit for a mining environment is essential, including meeting all customer vaccination requirements (proof of vaccination required).

Duties

As a participant in the Artisan Bridge Learnership, your duties will include:

  • Adherence to Employment Conditions: Follow all relevant employment agreements or awards.
  • Task Execution: Attend and perform tasks as directed by supervisors.
  • Professional Conduct: Maintain a courteous and professional demeanor at all times.
  • Compliance with Instructions: Follow all lawful instructions from superiors.
  • Competency Development: Work towards achieving the competencies outlined in the training plan.
  • Training Participation: Undertake all required training and assessments under the guidance of the training plan.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain accurate training records and produce them when required.
