Job Description
Gold One is offering Learner Miner Opportunities for the 2024 academic year. This program is designed for individuals who are eager to gain hands-on experience in the mining industry. Successful candidates will undergo both theoretical and practical training to develop essential mining skills.
Eligibility for Consideration
Candidates must provide police-certified copies of all qualifications and a copy of their Identity Document. The minimum requirements include:
- Grade 11 or equivalent with Maths and Science
- Interpersonal communication skills
- Flexibility to work rotational shifts
- Ability to work underground
- South African citizenship
- Clear criminal record
- Must be 18 years or older
Advantageous Qualifications
- Competency “B” and “A”
- Underground experience in stoping and development
- Background in trackless mining
- Experience as a team leader in stoping and development
Personal Attributes
- Eagerness to learn and self-driven
- Positive attitude
- Ability to work under pressure
- Team player capable of working independently
Key Performance Areas
- Adhere to Mine Health and Safety Standards and Regulations
- Successfully complete all theoretical and practical modules related to the learnership
